Description of Organization:
The Community Action Partnership of Kern is a private non-profit corporation with a $43 million dollar budget that administers twenty (20) contracts that operates on six (6) different fiscal years. Funding is derived from federal, state, local and private sources. The agency administers the Child Development & Education Services- State Funded Migrant and General Child Care, Head Start, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Immunization, Breast Cancer Intervention, Kern County Food Bank, U.S.D.A. Commodities, Energy Conservation, Home Energy Assistance Program, Senior Brown Bag, Mental Health, Family Counseling, Family Preservation and Support, AIDS Education, HOME Program, HelpLine, Youth Services Program, Kern Parent Child Center, Family Health Center and Supportive Housing program. The Agency is compromised of sixty(60) offices/work sites; employs over 600 personnel and operates thirty-four (34) school buses, trucks and cars.

The Agency delivers services to the following areas: Bakersfield, Arvin, McFarland, Lost Hills, Mt. Pinos, Cantil, Mojave, Rosamond, Wofford Heights, Eagles, Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, Havilah, Lamont, Shafter, Blackwells Corner, Lake Isabella, Reeder, Edna, Boron, Fremont Valley, Johannesburg, Inyo Kern, Taft, Caliente, Buttonwillow, Lakeland, Mountain Mesa, Delano, Wasco, Frazier Park, California City, North Edwards, Randsburg, Kernville, Bodfish, and Oildale. Direct services are provided to over 100,000 low-income residents of all ages and ethnic backgrounds each year.

  • Will provide limited after-school transportation services to Friendship House
